Cyprian O. Omoding, is Co-founder and Board of Directors at CICAD Kenya and he is human rights advocacy and safeguarding lead person. Previously Cyprian held positions such as Assistant Director and Education Support Officer at Women for Women in Africa, and Regional Advocacy and Community Outreach Coordinator at Edmund Rice Centre Nairobi enhancing Collaboration among partners to create a transparent, accountable systems for good governance. Prior to the above Cyprian worked as a child safeguarding officer, covering Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan, my role was to coordinate children advocacy approaches to enhance safe spaces for women and children through capacity building of staff, monitoring and evaluation for safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults’ policy. For years now Cyprian has worked towards promoting the rights of the persons with disabilities, gender inclusion, the elderly and intersex persons most of whom are considered a curse in society. For over 7 years now Cyprian has worked with reputable International non-organization implementing a rights-based approach to programming and development while engaging with the Human Rights Council on various topics; Universal Periodic Review since 2010, Treaty Bodies (UNCRC, CEDAW and CRPD). Cyprian is passionate crusader and advocate for transparency, accountability and good governance and working with communities and partners to enhance synergy on zero tolerance to corruption. Cyprian is also a Mediator of the High Court of Kenya focusing on family and children conflicts including succession and children custody cases since 2021. For years now Cyprian has work in mitigating gender-based violence and enhancing safe spaces for vulnerable persons including women, children and persons with disability, which is at the heart of my work. Cyprian has an in-depth understand of the politics of Kenya having participated in the elective politics previously. For years now, Cyprian has worked in the urban informal settlements implementing various projects on human rights, safeguarding of vulnerable person and gender inclusion. Cyprian is also a passionate Peace Practitioner and accredited mediator of the high court of Kenya by profession. In the education front, Cyprian holds a Masters of Art in Peace Studies and International Relations 2021. Cyprian hold a BA in Theology (2014) and Second BA in Social Sciences and Philosophical Studies (2008). CICAD Kenya is blessed to have Cyprian Omoding as the Co-founder and Board Member for a robust oversight and accountability.
